Vertical (walls)

Applying pebble resin to the walls, on the lower half metre around the whole house, is an increasingly popular solution in Portugal.

This technique not only gives your property a natural, sophisticated look, but also offers crucial extra protection against damp, splashes and everyday wear.

What is it?

It consists of covering the lower part of your exterior walls (the exterior skirting) with a continuous layer of natural pebbles bound by a high-performance resin (usually epoxy or polyurethane). The application can be either permeable (letting water drain through it) or waterproof (creating a watertight barrier), depending on the resin used and your specific needs.

Main advantages

  • Enhanced protection against damp and splashesThe half-metre band closest to the ground is the most vulnerable to rising damp, rain splashes, dirt and impacts. Pebble resin creates a robust barrier that protects the base of the walls, preventing deterioration of the paint or render.
  • Natural, distinctive lookThe pebbles give your facade a rustic yet modern charm. You can choose from a wide range of pebble colours and sizes to complement the style of your home and the surrounding landscaping. It creates a continuous, visually appealing finish that enhances the exterior of the property.
  • Durability and wear resistanceThe combination of pebbles and resin results in a surface that is extremely resistant to impact, abrasion and weather. It withstands temperature changes, sun exposure and rain well, keeping its integrity and appearance for many years.
  • Easy maintenanceThis surface is very easy to clean. Dirt can be removed with a garden hose or, if needed, a pressure washer. Whether permeable or waterproof, its nature helps prevent the moss and mould that are common in damp skirting areas.
  • Added property valueA well-executed pebble resin application on the exterior skirting not only improves the function and protection of your home, but also increases its aesthetic and market value.
